Holley was dispatched to Old Dixie Highway in the area of LG Drive in reference to a vehicle crash. According to the report, “When Deputy Holley arrived on the scene, he observed a black in color passenger car that had crashed into the woods on the West side of the roadway. Deputy Holley located several subjects who were standing around the vehicle trying to get it out.” The deputy made contact with the driver of the vehicle, identified as Cainan Lane Mahan, 19, of Adairsville. According to the report, Mahan had blood on his shirt and was wearing no shoes. While the deputy was speaking with Mahan, he could smell the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person and bloodshot watery eyes.
