According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, On October 29th, 2022, at 11:35 PM, Officer Forrister was traveling on initiated a traffic stop on a truck after observing it speeding at 57 mph on GA-293 and failing to maintain lane. Officer Forrister then made contact with the driver, identified as Jaxon Lyle Green, 18, of Adairsville, and noticed that his eyes did appear glossy. Officer Forrister reported, “Because this is a common indicator of someone being under the influence of alcohol and also noticing that he had failed to maintain his lane while negotiating the curve [I] did ask Jaxon to step out of the vehicle and to step to the rear of his vehicle so [I] could speak with him. Once at the rear of the truck, [I] asked Jaxon if he had consumed alcohol and he did at first imply that he had not, [I] then asked if he would blow zero’s on a roadside alcosensor, and he then made a comment about having a coke with alcohol in it. At this point, because Jaxon had admitted to drinking alcohol accompanying the failure to maintain lane and speeding, [I] did ask him to complete field sobriety examinations.” During field sobriety testing, Jaxon showed several signs of impairment and a BAC of .02 on a PBT. Jaxon was placed under arrest for DUI and underage possession of alcohol. Jaxon was read implied consent for breath and agreed. Jaxon was transported to the FCPD, where he showed a BAC of .014 on the state test. Jaxon was then transported to the Floyd County Jail and booked.
