Alabama man arrested after being caught in online child predator sex sting in Floyd County

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, Investigators continued to conduct proactive investigations to find child predators who use social media platforms to find children for sex. The Investigator reported, “[I] was portraying a 14-year-old girl to identify people using popular apps and websites to lure children for sexual purposes. Jerry Esco White, 50, of Lanett, Alabama, engaged in online conversations of a sexual nature with someone he thought to be a 14-year-old girl. According to the report, White then proceeded to send her two photos of his penis and asked for nude pictures of the child in return. On February 9th, 2022, White was transported from the Troup County Jail and booked into the Floyd County Jail, charged with obscene internet contact with a child, electronically furnishing obscene materials to a child, sexual exploitation of a child, and use of a computer to solicit a child to commit a felony.
