Alabama man arrested for DUI after crashing into ditch in Floyd County

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, On August 13th, 2022, at 1:56 PM, Officer Carrington was dispatched to a vehicle crash at 1268 Buttermilk Road. Officer Carrington reported, “Upon arrival [I] met with Randall Charles Wood, 65, of Centre Alabama. He was still sitting in the ditch, and [I] asked him to come up to the road so [I] could speak with him. He was very unsteady while walking up the ditch. [I] asked him what happened, and he stated that he took the curve too fast and ended up in the ditch. While speaking with him, [I] could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. His eyes were glazed over, bloodshot and pinpoint.” During field sobriety testing, Randall showed several signs of impairment, and he agreed to the state test. Randall was placed under arrest for DUI and showed a BAC of .205 on the state test. Once Randall was cleared from Redmond ER, he was transported to the Floyd County Jail, charged with DUI and failure to maintain a single lane.
