Alabama man arrested for DUI after getting stuck in yard and calling 911 in Floyd County

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, On May 22, 2022, at 12:32 AM, Officer Ribot was dispatch to a location to a 25-year-old who was looking for his parent. According to the report, “911 Dispatch advised that the person sounded under the influence.” The officer arrived and observed truck that was over a boulder in the yard of the property. Officer Ribot reported, “[I] approached the vehicle and made contact with a male, later ID, as Mr. Jacob Lee Owens, 25, of Fyffe, Alabama, who was sitting in the driver seat. [I] noticed an open beer in the cup holder of the center console. As contact was made with him, he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Based on the position of the vehicle, the open container, and the appearance of the driver (under the influence of alcohol), [I] had probable cause to arrest him for DUI less safe.” Owens refused implied consent and was transported to the Floyd County Jail, charged with DUI and obstruction.
