According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, On July 11th, 2022, 7:52 AM, Officer O’Bryan, heard dispatch give out a BOLO on a vehicle that was driving erratically on State Route 411 South. According to the report, “Dispatch advised that a white passenger car was passing on a double yellow line, weaving in and out of traffic. At one point, dispatch advised that the white passenger car had forced a green Toyota Truck off the road. Dispatch had received several calls about the white passenger car.” A Rome Police Officer observed the 2004 Oldsmobile LE Sabre driving recklessly, cutting in and out of traffic. The officer manages to catch up to the vehicle and initiate a traffic stop at State Route 411 and Hine Road. Lieutenant Williams and Captain Hunton also arrived on the scene to assist with the traffic stop. The Rome Officer also advised the driver, Javier Dawson Murrieta, 21, of Aragon, informed the officer that the reason for his reckless driving as he was late for work at Shaw Industries. Officers spoke with several witnesses that observed Javier speeding, passing in a passing zone, driving all over the roadway, and being very reckless. Javier was placed under arrest, and his vehicle was towed. Javier was booked into the Floyd County Jail, charged with driving with no insurance, operation of an unregistered vehicle, and reckless driving.
