Calhoun man arrested again for DUI after being found passed out behind the wheel in Gordon County

According to a Gordon County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On May 6th, 2022, at 2:58 AM, Deputy A.J. Mills responded to the area of Linda Lane at East May Street, in reference to someone slumped over the steering wheel at the stop sign on Linda Lane.¬†According to the report, “Deputy Mills observed a silver BMW stopped at the stop sign on Linda Lane with Anthony Jovan Wilkinson, 23, of Calhoun, asleep in the driver seat. Deputy Mills knocked on the window and gave a loud verbal presence but Mr. Wilkinson would not wake up. Deputy Mills opened the driver side door and gave a verbal presence to Mr. Wilkinson but he still would not wake up. Deputy Mills could smell the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle.” After doing a sternum rub on Wilkinson’s chest he woke up. Wilkinson advised the deputy he did not need EMS and was just very tired. The deputy observed Wilkinson’s eyes to be bloodshot and asked Wilknson if he had been drinking. Wilkinson stated he only consumed three beers prior to driving. Wilknson exited the vehicle and the deputy could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Mr. Wilknson’s breath. According to the report, “Deputy Mills asked Mr. Wilkinson if he would perform some field sobriety test Mr. Wilkinson¬†stated no he had already been arrested for DUI and to go ahead and arrest him because he had been drinking.” Wilkinson stated he would blow into a PBT and he had consumed 4-5 beers. Wilkinson blew into the PBT with a BAC result of .170. According to the report, “Deputy Mills read GA implied consent for blood. Mr. Wilkinson shook his head no several times and stated what good is that going to do I’m DUI.” Wilkinson was booked into the Gordon County Jail, DUI and improper stopping. According to Gordon County Jail records, Wilkinson has previous DUI arrest.
