Calhoun man arrested for DUI after being stopped for speeding in Floyd County

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, On May 15th, 2022, at 9:27 PM, Officer Stanfield responded to the area of Georgia 53 just North of Plainville Road in order to assist Officer Newport on a DUI investigation. Officer Newport stopped the vehicle after observing it speeding. Officer Stanfield made contact with the driver, later identified as Juan Ramon Rodriguez, 31, of Calhoun, and began to ask him questions about if he had anything to drink earlier in the night. According to the report, “Rodriguez advised that he had “three tall ones” from Buffalo Wild Wings.” During field sobriety tests, Rodriguez showed several signs of impairment. Rodriguez was then placed under arrest for DUI, driving under the influence of alcohol, and refused the state test for his blood. Rodriguez was transported to the Floyd County Jail, where he was charged with DUI, speeding, and open container violation.
