According to a Gordon County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On Tuesday, July 12th, 2022, at 7:33 PM, Deputy Jinright was dispatched to an address on Filed Crest Drive in reference to a physical domestic dispute in progress. Gordon County 911 that the male subject, later identified as Steven Gilbert Rodriguez Jr., 29, of Calhoun, had left the scene on foot. The victim said that she was cleaning the spare bedroom in the home, and she located a meth pipe in her husband’s belongings. According to the report, “When she confronted her husband about the meth pipe and also confronted him about being very unfaithful in the marriage. She said that she woke Rodriguez up from his nap with questions, and she said he woke up in a rage.” Rodriguez told her she was ruining his life, and he wanted her out of it. Rodriguez then threw the victim to the floor and started violently kicking her in the abdomen and hitting her in the face with a closed fist. Rodriguez then placed his hands around her neck and began violently choking her to the point she could not breathe. She stated her 4-year-old juvenile daughter witnessed all of the assault. Rodriguez was located shortly after at the intersection of Erwin Hill Road and Rosewood Drive. Rodriguez was placed under arrest and transported to the Gordon County Jail. Rodriguez. Advised he did not put his hands on her. Rodriguez was booked on charges of aggravated assault, battery, and cruelty to children in the 3rd degree.
