According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on April 28th, 2021, Deputy Figg was doing a drop-in visit at the Circle K on Airport Road. While inside the store, the deputy was approached by an employee who stated the male, later identified as Riley William Dickenson, 18 of Calhoun, had just left the store, had taken at least one drink, and had left without paying for the drink. The deputy made contact with William in the parking lot, detaining him taking him back to the store. Both employees stated they observed William come into the store and go to the beer section. He opened the door and took out at least one drink. They stated it looked like he did conceal the drink on his person. Both stated the only thing William paid for was a can of chips. The deputy asked William where the drinks were. William stated in his pocket, indicating his hoodie pocket. In William’s hoodie pocket were two alcoholic drinks at $4.80 per drink. The deputy confirmed the drinks had not been paid for. William was taken into custody and transported to the Whitfield County Jail charged with shoplifting.
