Cartersville man arrested, woman sought after shoplifting from the Harley Davidson store in Dalton

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On July 21th, 2021, at approximately 11:24 AM, Deputy McClure and Deputy Gomez were dispatched to the Harley Davidson store at 1002 Market Street for shoplifting that occurred on July 20th, 2021, at approximately 4:41 PM. Deputies met with the manager of the store. According to the report, The Deputies observed security camera footage of the incident. According to the report, “The video footage showed a larger white woman later identified Megan Ashley Frizell, 28, of Cartersville, as with brown hair that was in a bun on top of her head. Megan wore a blue and white sundress and had a mask covering her face. In the video, you can see Megan with a pink trucker hat in her left hand while walking across the store to a display rack of gloves. The video shows Megan getting extremely close to the rack and putting the hat into her dress. After the hat disappears into her dress, you can see Megan struggling to break away a security sensor from a pair of gloves. When the sensor broke apart, the woman hit the rack and made a loud noise. The sensor fell to the ground, and Megan attempted to recover it but was unsuccessful.” Megan started to walk back towards the front of the store while putting the gloves on the top of her dress when an employee observed what was going on. Megan quickly fled the store and jumped into a waiting truck being driven by a male later identified as Benjamin Charles Baker, 37, of Cartersville. Another employee was able to get a picture of a dark brown Dodge Ram 1500 with the license plate number RZQ8109. The manager advised deputies that he estimated the stolen merchandise to be around $60. Deputy McClure made a license plate inquiry for the motor vehicle and recorded the vehicle and its registered owner (Benjamin Baker) information for the report. On September 26th, 2022, Benjamin was booked into the Whitfield County Jail and charged with theft by shoplifting. At the time of the report, Megan has not been arrested but has warrants for her arrest.
