Cartersville woman arrested after early wild morning high-speed pursuit in Calhoun ends in crash

According to a Gordon County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on October 22nd, 2021, at approximately 1:59 AM, Deputy Mills was on patrol in the area of Highway 53 and 53 Spur. According to the report, The deputy observed a Black Jeep stop about 150ft before the stop sign for eastbound traffic, then take off and fail to stop for the stop sign. The deputy then observed the Jeep fail to maintain its lane. According to the report, “Deputy Mills activated the emergency lights on his patrol vehicle to conduct a traffic stop. Deputy Mills observed the Black Jeep speed up and nearly struck the rear of a small passenger car heading in the same direction.” The Jeep, later identified to be driven by Bryanna Saige Hill, 21 of Cartersville, took off at a high rate of speed. According to the report, “Hill reached speeds of 90 MPH in a 35 MPH zone while passing Calhoun High School. According to the report, “Hill Lost control of the Jeep traveling into the opposite lanes striking the curb at Oothcalooga Street at South River Street. Deputy According to the report, “Hill continued driving going into the post office at 401 Court Street. Deputy Mills struck the Black Jeep with his patrol vehicle on the passenger side in an attempte to pin the Jeep against the curb. Hill continued to accelerate and flee. Deputy Mills struck the Jeep two more times in an attempt to stop Hill from further fleeing.” Hill accelerated and jumped over the curb, going down a small embankment back onto Oothcalooga Street eastbound. The deputy observed the Jeep stopped in the eastbound lane facing west with smoke coming from the engine. The vehicle was unoccupied, and Hill was observed running down the train tracks. Hill was arrested after a foot pursuit by Deputy Smith. According to the report, “Deputy Mills asked Ms. Hill why she fled. She stated she had anxiety and was scared.” Hill was transported to Adventhealth Gordon by EMS. Hill was read Georgia Implied Consent Notice and refused. Hill was booked into the Gordon County Jail, charged with failure to stop for stop sign, failure to maintain lane, improper lane change, too fast for conditions, aggressive driving, no insurance, DUI drugs, fleeing attempting to elude, and reckless driving.
