Cave Spring woman arrested for DUI after speeding past Floyd County officer

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, on June 26th, 2022, 1:45 AM, Officer Wright stopped a Toyota Corolla after observing it driving too fast for the conditions by crossing the railroad tracks on Park Avenue at fast pace, causing the vehicle to become completely airborne. The vehicle continued past Officer Wright’s location at a fast pace. After stopping, the officer made contact with the female driver, later identified as Amanda Chelseanne Ledford, 28, of Cave Spring. Officer Wright reported, “As [I] was speaking to Amanda, [I] noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. [I] asked Amanda if she had any alcoholic beverages, and Amanda stated she had. [I] asked Amanda when did she last have an alcoholic beverage, and she informed me around 1:00 AM.” During field sobriety tests, Amanda showed several signs of alcohol impairment and stopped the testing stating, “just take me to jail”. Amanda was placed under arrest for DUI and refused the state test. Amanda was booked into the Floyd County Jail, charged with DUI, and too fast for conditions.
