Chatsworth woman arrested for DUI after crashing into guardrail on Tibbs Bridge Road

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On July 2nd, 2022, at 1:49 AM, Sgt. C. Cox, Deputy A. Witt, and Deputy J. Craig responded to a crash at the intersection of Tibbs Bridge Road and Cypress Drive. According to the report, “Upon arriving on scene Sgt. Cox advised dispatch that one male had burns to the hand.” Deputy Witt made contact with the female driver, identified as Jeilin Guadalupe Muro, 22, of Chatsworth. Jeilin appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and was not cooperative at all with deputies. According to the report, Jeilin was unable to give her name, birth date, or any other coherent information. Jeilin was identified by a debit card located by Sgt. Cox and her vehicle registration. Jeilin had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath and was unsteady on her feet. Jeilin also attempted to touch deputies and EMS personnel multiple times and continually referred to Deputy Witt by the names “Eric” and “Edgar”. Deputy Witt placed Jeilin under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.” The passenger, Eric, also stated that he and Jeilin had only drank one beer. Eric also had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. According to the report, “Jeilin crashed a 2016 Ford Fusion into the end of a guardrail at approximately the rear passenger side door. The vehicle then went to the left and came to a stop in the eastbound lane of Tibbs Bridge Road. The vehicle sustained major disabling damage. The guardrail also sustained major damage.” Jeilin was transported to the Whitfield County Jail, where she showed a BrAC of .183 on the state test. She was booked into jail, and charged with DUI and failing to maintain a lane.
