According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on Wednesday, December 23rd, 2020, around 9:09 PM, Deputy Mdeiway was dispatched to Interstate 75 north around the 333 exit ramp for a vehicle driving southbound on the northbound ramps. The deputy made contact with the vehicle at the I-75 north 333 exit ramp facing the opposite direction. The deputy made contact with the driver Iliana Raymundo, 29, of Chatsworth. As the deputy was questioning her on how she ended up where she was, he could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her. When asked, Raymundo stated she had two long island ice teas to drink from a Mexican restaurant. When the deputy asked Raymundo for her driver’s license, she gave him a few credit cards and a business card. Raymundo could never locate her driver’s license and was reported as struggling with this simple request. When the deputy asked Raymundo if she would be willing to do a standardized field sobriety test, she stated no. The deputy reported that Raymundo struggled to put her shoes on her feet for a few minutes, and when she finally did, she almost fell on the ground getting out of the vehicle. Raymundo could barely stand while the deputy was talking to her. During this encounter, Raymundo was reported as having slurred speech and was hard to understand. Raymundo was placed under arrest for DUI less safe. Raymundo was read the Georgia Implied Consent Notice for suspects age 21 or over, to which she agreed to take the breath test. As the deputy was waiting for the wrecker for Raymundo’s vehicle, she had urinated in the back seat of the patrol car. A Dalton City officer meet to complete the breath test at the Whitfield County Jail. As the Dalton Officer attempted to get Raymundo to complete the test but she kept sucking the mouthpiece of the Intoxilyzer 9000 instead of blowing for a breath sample. The officer was not able to obtain a breath sample from Raymundo due to her not complying with the simple instructions. Raymundo was charged with DUI less safe, driving while license is suspended, and driving on the wrong side of the roadway. According to online arrest records in 2019 Raymundo was arrested by Chattanooga PD for DUI- driving under the influence, driving on roadways laned for traffic, drivers to exercise due care, and failure to signal turn.
