Chatsworth woman arrested for DUI again after speeding on suspended license in Whitfield County

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On September 30th, 2022, Deputy Figg was working traffic on Chatsworth Hwy at the cattle gate just before Hwy 286 when he stopped a 2000 Hyundai Sonata for speeding 73 mph in a 55 mph. According to the report, “As the vehicle went past Deputy Figg, he observed the sun was in the driver’s eyes as the driver was moving her hands in an attempt to block the sun but continuing at the high rate of speed even though the sun was in her eyes and hindering her view.” The deputy then made contact with Patricia Yvonne McMichael, 64, of Chatsworth, and explained the reason for the traffic stop. Patricia had a cigarette lit and was smoking the cigarette during the traffic stop. Patricia stated she did not have her license with her, but she did have a permit to drive her vehicle. A check through GCIC the computer showed she was suspended for her 2nd DUI offense back in 2015. According to the report, “Deputy Figg also observed on the computer she was to have a locking device on her vehicle as part of her condition, which she did not have. Deputy Figg returned to the vehicle taking Patricia into custody and having her put out her cigarette. While waiting on the wrecker, Deputy Figg began filling out his citations. While completing the citations, Deputy Figg could smell some type of alcoholic beverage coming from the area of Patricia.” Patricia showed a BAC of .081 on a PBT. Patricia was transported to the Whitfield County Jail, where she showed a BAC of .037. She was charged with speeding, driving on a suspended license, and DUI less safe.
