Chatsworth woman brings meth into jail after shoplifting felony amount from Walmart with Dalton man

According to a Dalton Police Department incident report, On September 11th, 2022, at 4:32 PM, Officer Miller responded to the Walmart located at 815 Shugart Road in reference to a shoplifting in progress. The loss prevention associate showed Officer Miller a video of a male subject, later identified as Logan Skyler Hartshorn, 29, of Dalton, who had already put merchandise down inside his pants. The associate also advised that he had watched Logan switch price tags between products. Officer Miller reported, “[I] continued to observe Logan on the security cameras walk around the store isles and switch price tags between other products. While watching Logan, [I] observed him make contact with a second female shopper, later identified as Britney Nicole Yingling, 28, of Chatsworth. [I] noticed that Britney had a shopping cart full of expensive items in her possession. [I] observed Logan and Britney conversate as if they knew each other. Logan was apprehended as he attempted to leave the store. Logan advised officers he did not wish to speak with them any further. Britney was apprehended as she attempted to leave the store with a buggy full of merchandise. Britney was also found to have already been trespassed from all Walmart previously. The loss prevention associate advised the total value of items shoplifted was $880.09 before taxes. Officer Miller reported, “[I] informed Logan and Britney that they were under arrest for felony shoplifting.” Once at the Whitfield County Jail, Britney was discovered to have a small cylindrical metal container on her that contained two small baggies and a small foil packet along with two plastic straw segments. One of the baggies contained meth. Britney was booked into the Whitfield County Jail, charged with theft by a shoplifting felony, criminal trespass of property, possession of meth, and crossing of guard lines.
