Chattanooga woman arrested for DUI after traffic stop for taillight violation in Catoosa County

According to a Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On August 20th, 2022, at approximately 2:15 AM, Cpl Carmichael was sitting stationary on Highway 151 around the Mapco near Holcomb Road when he stopped a 2007 Scion TC with no visible tag light, and a brake light out. Cpl Carmichael initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Dasha M Brown, 23, of Chattanooga, TN. According to the report, “Cpl Carmichael immediately detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from Brown’s breath. Cpl Carmichael continued to speak with the driver. She was slightly slurred in speech, and her eyes were watery and glossy. Cpl. Carmichael asked her if she had consumed any alcohol this date, and she replied that she only had two beers before driving.” During field sobriety testing, Brown showed several signs of impairment and showed a BAC of .091 on a PBT. Brown was placed under arrest for DUI and agreed to the state testing of her blood. Brown was booked into the Catoosa County Jail and charged with DUI, open container violation, and taillight violation.
