Chattooga County child molester sentenced to prison for a fourth time

According to Chattooga County Court records, A Trion man is back in prison for the fourth time since 1997. George Clement Gilham, 46, confessed to molesting a seven-year-old girl on several occasions, according to court records. “The suspect stuck his hands down on the inside of the victim’s panties and rubbed her vagina area. The suspect did this several times over the last year,” according to court records. Gilham was sentenced to 10 years in prison and 20 years of probation for one count of child molestation. This isn’t the first trip for Gilham to prison. The first trip happened in 1997 when he molested two girls in Floyd County. He got out of prison for that first molestation case in July 2006. He was back in prison by June 2009 and again in 2012 for aggravated assault charges in Floyd County. Superior Court Judge Don Thompson sentenced Gilham this Valentine’s Day to 10 years in prison and 20 years of probation. “Defendant will abide by all sex offender conditions. Defendant will provide a DNA sample to be stored and maintained by the division of forensic sciences of the GBI,” according to court records.
