Chickamauga man charged with DUI after causing crash in Walker County

According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report, On April 17th, 2022, at 6:38 PM, a 2000 Chevy Silverado being driven by Dereck Francis Morgan, 64, of Chickamauga, was traveling southbound on SR #1 and attempting to turn right onto Osborn Road. A 2010 Mercedes Benz being driven by Alba Rosser, 40, of Rossville, along with three kids ages 14, 8, and 1, was traveling eastbound on Osborn Road, stopped at the red traffic signal at SR #1. Morgan advised that he lost control and struck the Mercedes. The Chevy struck the Mercedes on the left front with the right front of the Chevy. The Chevy came to rest facing southwest on the concrete median on Osborn Road. The Mercedes was pushed backward and came to rest facing southeast in the eastbound lane of Osborn Road. According to the report, Morgan was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested. Morgan was booked into the Walker County Jail, charged with DUI, improper turn, expired license, and open container violation.
