Chickamauga motorcyclist killed in crash Saturday afternoon in Catoosa County

According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report, on Saturday, March 20th, 2021, at around 3:54 PM, a 2021 Nissan Versa, being driven by Ali Avans 32, of Trion, was traveling west on Three Notch Road, making a left turn onto Old Three Notch Road. A 2014 Suzuki GSXR, being driven by Joshua Fleetwood, 40, of Chickamauga, was traveling east on Three Notch Road on a hill crest, approaching the intersection of Old Three Notch Road. The motorcycle struck the Nissan in the right rear quarter panel with its front right. Due to the impact, Fleetwood was detached from the motorcycle. Avans came to final uncontrolled rest off the right side of the roadway down a small embankment. The motorcycle continued east, sliding and overturning until coming to a final, uncontrolled rest on Three Notch Road on the shoulder of the westbound lane. The Nissan came to final, controlled rest, and parked on Old Three Notch Road on the shoulder of the southbound lane. Fleetwood was transported by Life Force to Erlanger, where he succumbed to his injuries. The Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) was called to the scene for further investigation.
