Cohutta woman arrested for DUI after being stopped for driving all over I-75 in Whitfield County

According to Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On April 3rd, 2022, at 2:27 AM, Deputy Center and Deputy Haven were traveling on I-75 northbound around mile marker 338 when they witnessed a black Toyota Camry failing to maintain the lane several times. According to the report, “Once severe enough while in the far right lane causing her passenger-side wheels to cross the solid white fog line onto the right shoulder of the road and her driver-side wheels to almost touching the solid white line on the right side of the right lane. Deputy Center initiated a traffic stop by activating his patrol car’s blue lights approximately at I-75 northbound mile marker 339.” The deputy made contact with the driver, Kayla Brianna Dean, 35, of Cohutta. The deputy advised Dean he had stopped her because of her failure to maintain her lane. Dean advised the deputy she was on her phone. According to the report, “Deputy Center asked her if she had done any drugs tonight or consumed any alcohol. Ms. Dean advised Deputy Center she had “two mojitos and a screwdriver” at approximately 11:00 PM last date.” During field sobriety Tests Dean showed several signs of impairment. Dean was placed under arrest for DUI and transported to the Whitfield County Jail. At 3:14 AM, Dean showed a BAC of .085. Dean was charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic and DUI.
