Convicted felon found in possession of gun and meth during traffic stop in Whitfield County

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on February 1st, 2022 at approximately 9:50 PM, Deputy McKenzie and Deputy Spivey were notified by the Whitfield County Narcotics Unit about a suspicious grey in color 2008 Infinity M35. According to the report, “The Whitfield County Narcotics Unit advised the vehicle was making frequent stops at gas stations and the driver who would later be identified as Trey Reynaldo Jordan, 29, of Cleveland, TN, appeared to be making hand to hand narcotic transactions. The Whitfield County Narcotic Unit followed the vehicle onto Veterans Drive and observed the vehicle fail to maintain its lane.”┬áDeputy McKenzie was able to initiated a traffic stop on Fleming Street just north of the North Dalton Bypass Intersection. Jordan stated to the deputies he did not have a valid driver’s license. The Whitfield County Narcotics Unit arrived on scene and assisted. According to the report, “The Whitfield County Narcotic Unit searched the vehicle and located a glass pipe and a Taurus 9mm handgun. The Narcotics Unit then searched Mr. Jordan and located methamphetamine in Mr. Jordan’s pocket.”┬áJordan was then placed under arrest and transported to the Whitfield County Jail, charged possession of meth, possession and use of drug-related objects, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and driving without a valid license. Jordan was issued a warning for failure to maintain a single lane.
