Convicted felon found in possession of gun, charged with distributing meth in Whitfield County

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on February 1st, 2022, Deputy Hackney observed Dale Jerome Landen, 58, of Chatsworth, driving and was aware that Landen had an active felony warrant. According to the report, “Deputy Hackney conducted a traffic stop on Mr. Landen on Utility Road at Lofty Way. Mr. Landen was driving a black Kia Optima. Mr. Landen was detained and advised that he had an Active Warrant that was confirmed through dispatch. While Deputy Hackney was patting Mr. Landen down for weapons, Mr. Landen stated that he had some Marijuana on his person in a pouch in his front right pocket. Mr. Landen also stated that there was some Methamphetamine in the brown leather pouch that Deputy Hackney removed from Mr. Landens front left pocket. On-Call Narcotics Detective was contacted.” Detectives arrived on the scene, and the drugs were turned over to them. Landen was booked into the Whitfield County Jail, charged with possession of a schedule 2 drug, possession to distribute meth, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, open container violation, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, two counts of possession of meth and two counts of possession and use of drug-related objects.
