According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, July 25th, 2022, at 10:48 PM, Officer Chandler and Overstreet went to a call of shots fired on Ireland Drive. While officers were en route, a call came in reference to a 15-year-old male that had been shot on Ireland Drive. Officers arrived and found a young male standing in the driveway holding his left arm with a rag. Officer then located a vehicle with six impact locations, but only five rounds were shot. The father of the three victims stated that he sent his wife and son to a friend’s house to get a wheel and tire for a dirt bike and that they were shot at on Ireland Drive. The victim advised man identified as Jonathan Dale Pilcher Jr., 20, of Rome, was the shooter, and it was over the sale of Vape pens. The victim stated that Pilcher had ripped him off for $40. Investigator Lopez located the address for Pilcher. Officers then secured a search warrant for 1185 Burnett Ferry Road. While searching a vehicle on the property, officers located a spent shell casing on the passenger side. Upon entering the residence, officers began in the living room and moved to the first room to the right, and located magazines for a firearm, ammo, and smoking devices. According to the report, “Sgt. Holbrook noticed an air vent that appeared to have been tampered with, and upon its removal, he located more magazines, a large amount of marijuana, and counterfeit money. Upon further inspection of the area, they located two pistols.” Pilcher was arrested and booked into the Floyd County Jail, charged with two counts of felony aggravated assault, armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of marijuana. According to arrest records, Pilcher has a very lengthy criminal record.
