Dallas man arrested for DUI after leaving Rome River Jam and being stopped in Floyd County

According to a Georgia State Patrol incident report, On October 28th, 2022, at approximately 9:30 PM, Corporal Vines of Paulding Post 29 was patrolling the area of GA-1 loop when he observed a black Kia Forte crossing into the gore of GA-1 Loop near Wilbanks Drive. Trooper Vines conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Charles Alan Daby, 42, of Dallas. Corporal Vines reported, “While speaking with Mr. Daby. [I] could smell the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle. [I] asked Mr. Daby if he had anything to drink tonight. He stated he had a couple of beers at the concert. While furthering my field interview. Mr. Daby’s speech was slurred, and he appeared to have a heavy tongue.” During field sobriety testing, Daby showed several signs of impairment. Daby was placed under arrest for DUI and agreed to the state test. Daby was transported to the Floyd County Jail and charged with driving within gore and DUI.
