According to a Georgia State Patrol incident report, On September 3rd, 2022, at 2:50 AM, while TFC2 Shackleford was participating in a sobriety road check on 2nd Street near 3rd Street in Rome, she made contact with driver Jeffery Ronald Walker, 55, of Dallas, operating a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado. Trooper Shackleford reported, “[I] observed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Mr. Walker. [I] observed that Mr. Walker’s eyes appeared red and glassy. [I] asked Mr. Walker if he had consumed any alcoholic beverages. Mr. Walker explained that he had only consumed a few beers and that he was on a large amount of medication.” During field sobriety tests, Walker showed several signs of impairment and showed a BAC of .082 on a PBT. The test was ultimately stopped due to his extreme lack of balance. Walker was placed under arrest for DUI and agreed to the state testing of his blood. Walker was booked into the Floyd County Jail and charged with DUI.
