According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on November 24th, 2021, at around 10:24 PM, Deputy Corona was dispatched to the Walmart located at 2545 East Walnut Avenue in reference to Deputy Peden detaining one male subject for shoplifting. According to the report, “Upon arrival Deputy Corona was able to identify via Georgia license that the male subject is a Mr. Jimmy William Dale Trammell, 44, Dalton,. The asset protection associate informed the deputy Mr. Trammell was observed opening and concealing a Bic lighters 5 pack that is worth $4.97 and a Hyper light that retails for $7.97 on the sales floor of the store. Deputy Peden was already on the scene and was able to escort Mr. Trammell to the loss prevention office. Mr. Trammell was placed under arrest and was read his Miranda rights. Mr. Trammell was transported to the Whitfield County Detention Jail, where he was booked charged with theft by shoplifting.
