Dalton man arrested for DUI after being stopped for driving all over the roadway

According to a dalton Police Department, On October 29th, 2022, at 3:05 AM, Officer Lewis arrived at Fort Hill Cir and South Spencer Street to assist Lt. Eaton, who was on a traffic stop with a silver Volkswagen Tiguan who was observed weaving over the roadway and failing to maintain his lane. The driver of this vehicle was identified as Edis Krnjic, 36, of Dalton. Krnjic admitted to having three beers before driving. During field sobriety testing, Krnjic showed several signs of impairment and a BAC of .165. Officer Lewis reported, “While talking to Krnjic during all of these tests, [I] also observed that he would heavily slur his speech. I also detected the odor of alcohol on his breath.” Krnjic was then placed under arrest for DUI and refused the state test. Krnjic was transported to the Whitfield County Jail. Officer Lewis reported, “[I] also filled out an administrative license suspension form due to him refusing the state test for his breath. [I] brought this form to Krnjic and advised him that this form would be his license. [I] advised him that he could use this to drive to work, get food medical issues, and other essential needs, but not for leisure. [I] advised him that this form was in no way an admission of guilt but that he would need to sign the form in order for it to be valid. Krnjic refused to sign the form.” Krnjic was charged with failure to maintain lane DUI- alcohol less safe.
