Dalton man found with meth after shoplifting beer from Walmart in Whitfield County

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on August 4th, 2021, at around 7:46 PM, Deputy Henderson responded to 2545 East Walnut Ave Walmart in reference to employee’s noticing a male following a female around. The caller who is the loss prevention associate gave a description of the male. He also said the male drank a bottle of beer inside the store and exited the store thru the pharmacy exit without paying for it.¬†According the report, Deputy Henderson spotted the male walking on the sidewalk towards lawn and garden. The deputy pulled up behind male who looked at the deputy and continued walking. The deputy got the man stopped and asked him for his ID. The man said he left his ID at home but his name is Brandon Lee Voyles, 33, of Dalton. Deputy Henderson asked if he had been drinking and he said no. Deputy Henderson terry frisked his shorts pockets. According to the report, “Deputy Henderson asked him if he had any alcohol in his cloth black gym type bag and he handed it to Deputy Henderson and said no. Deputy Henderson could here glass banging together and could feel pipes thru the bag. Deputy Henderson asked could he search his bag and Mr Voyles said yes. Deputy Henderson opened it and located two meth glass smoking pipes.” Voyles was arrested and taken back to the loss prevention office behind Walmart. Another deputy arrived and field tested one of the pipes which tested positive for methamphetamine. Voyles was given a verbal notice that he was now trespassed from all Walmart properties.¬†Voyles was transported to the Whitfield County Jail charged, with shoplifting, possession of meth and drug related objects.
