Dalton man previously banned from Walmart arrested after returning and causing disturbance

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on October 23rd, 2020, at approximately 7:36 PM, deputies were called to the Walmart located at 2545 East Walnut Avenue about a disturbance that occurred inside at the customer center. Dispatch gave a description of a black male wearing blue jeans and a black shirt. Upon arrival, deputies located a suspect in the parking lot matching that description. The subject was identified as Christopher Beck, 44 of Dalton. Deputies asked Beck what the problem was. Beck stated that he was trying to return a car battery that he had purchased at the Walmart, but due to Walmart policy, he could not. Deputies entered Walmart to talk to the Asset Protection associate who advised Deputies that Beck has been trespassed due to previous shoplifting this year. The associate advised Deputies that he wanted to press charges. Deputies went back to the parking lot and placed Beck under arrest for criminal trespassing. Beck was transported to Whitfield County Jail charged with criminal trespass of property without permission.
