Dalton man stabs, beats, and chokes girlfriend during violent domestic in Whitfield County

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on December 16th, 2021, at approximately 3:00 PM, Deputy McClure was dispatched to speak with a victim in reference to a domestic dispute with her boyfriend, Robert Dillion Jones, 30, of Dalton. She advised the deputy that she has been living with Mr. Jones at his Grandparent’s house on Kensington Way in Dalton. According to the report, She stated that starting around December 4th, 2021, Mr. Jones started being physical with her when they would get into arguments. She said that he would hit her with a closed fist anywhere he could get on her upper torso, including her face. The victim stated this has caused her to miss work because she was to embarrassed to go in with bruises on her face. She said that on the evening of December 12th, 2021, during an argument, Mr. Jones picked up a knife, stabbing her in her right leg. She stated that on December 14th, 2021, Mr. Jones became angry after asking her about an ex-boyfriend. The victim stated that Mr. Jones took a pair of her socks and shoved them in her mouth, then used duct tape and wrapped it around the mouth several times so she could not scream for help. Mr. Jones began violently choking her with his hands around her throat and was pinching her nose so she couldn`t breathe. The victim said she tried desperately to get away from Mr. Jones, and then he started punching her and biting her on the nose. She told Deputy McClure that she was in fear for her life and still is. Deputy McClure advised her not to return to the residence and to find someone to stay with. Deputy McClure sent the victim a link to upload photos of her bruises and cuts. Deputy McClure took warrants for Mr. Jones for Aggravated assault (FVA) and false imprisonment (FVA).
