Dalton man steals two 18 pack Bud Light cases from Whitfield County convenience store

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on June 11th, 2021, at approximately 1:27 AM, Deputy Greene responded to Andy’s Mart located at 2219 Abutment Road, in reference to a shoplifting that had just occurred. According to the report, “Prior to arriving on scene, the caller advised dispatch the offender was a black male that fled the scene in a maroon-colored van bearing Ga license plate #TAD4730. The caller stated that the male was last seen turning north on Abutment Road. Upon arrival Deputy Greene met with the store clerk.” The store clerk stated that the male entered the store while he was busy preparing breakfast foods for customers. He also explained that one of the front doors’ chime sound is broken. According to the report, the store clerk stated as he was coming out of the kitchen, he observed a black male exiting the front door with two cases of beer. The store clerk pursed the male outside. The male quickly loaded the stolen beer into a maroon van and fled the scene. The store clerk yelled at the male and stated, “don’t leave. You’ve already been caught”. The items stolen were two 18 pack Bud Light cases valued at $42.78. The store clerk described the male suspect and advised the shoplifting was caught on the cameras in the store. According to the report, “Deputy Greene further explained that this incident would be forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Division and that a detective would follow up and obtain video evidence. The registered owner of the offender vehicle is a Randall Lamond Macon, 55, of Dalton.” According to online reports, Macon is no stranger to stealing from businesses. In March, he was arrested by the Dalton Police Department after shoving $120 worth of meat down his pants in an attempt to steal from the Kroger on Walnut Avenue.
