According to another Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On April 15th, 2022, at 4:38 PM, Deputy Figg was dispatched to the Walmart located at 2545 East Walnut Avenue, in reference to a shoplifting. On arrival, Deputy Figg spoke with the loss prevention associate, who stated the following. According to the report, “The loss prevention associate stated on video she observed Christina Hernandez Morales, 52, of Dalton, and Santos Morales-Prado, 38, of Dalton, at the check out skip scanning items and placing the items into a bag, without scanning the items. Both Christina and Santos attempted to leave the store without paying for the items taken, a total of $60.01. They were stopped and taken to loss prevention, where Walmart pressed charges on them for shoplifting. Deputy Figg took Christina and Santos into custody and placed Santos in the back of his patrol vehicle. Christina was placed in the back of Deputy Deaver’s Patrol vehicle, as he was there on completely separate shoplifting with several other shoplifters in custody. All parties were transported to the Whitfield County Jail without incident and charged with shoplifting.
