Dalton teen booked on felony charges after another teen dragged by vehicle and seriously injured

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on October 18, 2020, Deputy Hackney responded to Whittle Drive in reference to a subject that was dragged by a car. Upon arrival the 16-year-old victim was in the Ambulance unable to speak and was standing by for Life Force. Deputy Hackney spoke with woman who is the teenagers grandmother/guardian. She stated that the teenager was trying to sell a gun on Snapchat or Facebook. She stated that a Off White Chrysler 300 Dark tinted windows pulled up at the end of the driveway facing back toward North Dug Gap and teenager walked down the driveway to the Chrysler. She then stated that the mother of the teenager then started yelling they have him. She stated that when she went outside the mother was coming back up the driveway and they got in their vehicle and drove down Whittle Drive to where the teenager was located laying in the roadway at the intersection of North Dug Gap. The deputy then had Dispatch to contact the Detective on call. The detective responded and the scene was turned over to him. Angel Jose Morales, 18, of Dalton, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with aggravated assault and aggravated battery in reference to the case.
