Dalton woman arrested after attempting to shoplift over $300 in merchandise from Walmart

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on May 13th, 2021, at around 9:56 PM, a deputy responded to the Walmart located at 2545 East Walnut Avenue in reference to a shoplifting in progress. The deputy arrived and met with the asset protection associate. He advised there was a lady currently taking items out of their package and placing them into a tool bag that she also removed the price tag from. The deputy, along with the associate, escorted the female to the asset protection office. The female was identified as Wanda Gale Blevins, 56, of Dalton. According to the report, “Ms. Blevins removed approximately 34 items from their package and attempted to conceal them in a tool bag that she also took the price tag off. The approximate value of the items Ms. Blevins attempted to shoplift was $312.06. While in the Asset protection office, Ms. Blevins admitted that she was attempting to shoplift the items from Walmart.” Blevins was placed under arrest and transported to Whitfield County Jail charged with theft by shoplifting. Blevins was aslo trespassed from all Walmart properties.
