According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on February 7th, 2021, at approximately 4:04 PM, a deputy was dispatched to the Walmart located 2545 East Walnut Avenue in reference to a shoplifting that occurred on February 4th, 2021. The deputy spoke with the loss prevention associate. The associate stated a white female later identified as Mandy Kay Goins, 33 of Dalton, entered the store with a juvenile female and selected several items. Mandy placed a girl’s jacket on the juvenile and then approached the self-checkout registers. Mandy scanned the items but did not pay for the items but did place the items in Walmart shopping bags. Mandy then approached the customer service desk and requested a refund. Mandy was given a gift card for $116.77 dollars. The female allowed the juvenile to wear the jacket out of the store without paying. The deputy was given a Loss Prevention Report, video, and two still photos of the adult female. On April 5th, 2021, Mandy was booked into the Whitfield County Jail charged with theft by shoplifting and theft by deception.
