Dalton woman arrested after trespassing on train tracks causing CSX train to make an emergency stop

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on March 29th, 2021, at around 2:21 PM, the Whitfield County 911 center received a CSX railroad call about a female walking on tracks and a train having to do an emergency stop at Beavers Road. Deputy Warren spoke to the engineer and conductor. They stated they saw a female walking on the tracks. They blew the horn several times to get her to move. The female, later identified as Ashley Jordan Baldridge, 31 of Dalton, didn’t move at all so they had to initiate an emergency stop. The train continued to stop, and they lost sight of her. They began thinking they had hit Ashley, looked out the rear, and saw her walking away. The engineer told her she almost died and she can’t walk on the train tracks. The engineer stated Ashely threw her hands up and continued to walk away with no care as to what had happened. She then walked on the tracks again in front of the train. Deputy Sharpe located Ashely and confirmed it was her. Per a CSX Police Department, Special Agent CSX wished to place charges. Baldridge was transported to the Whitfield County Jail charged with criminal trespass, damage 0f $500 or less, and intruding on railroad tracks.
