According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On June 13th, 2022, A deputy met with a 70-year-old man at the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office in reference to Financial Transaction Card Fraud. The elderly victim stated that over the past month, his daughter Kimberly Ann Weaver, 38, of Dalton, had taken $11,000 from his bank account at the Georgia United Credit Union. The victim stated that Kim somehow stole his debit card information and had been using his card at walmart.com, target.com and also sending herself money on Cash App. The victim was able to provide the deputy with his bank statement for the month of June and all the purchases for this month. The victim stated that he is not able to pay his bills now because Kim has withdrawn all the money he has. The victim did confront Kim about all the transactions, and she begged him not to prosecute her. The victim advised the deputy that he lives in an assisted living home and is not able to pay them because Kim has now taken all of his money. The victim stated that his bank account is overdrawn at this time, and he has not spent any of it. The victim has notified Georgia United Credit Union as well. On June 15th, 2022, at 3:23 PM, Kimberly was booked into the Whitfield County Jail, charged with financial transaction card fraud, and exploit/deprive services to disabled/elder/resident.
