Drunk man arrested after exposing his genitalia to customers at Floyd County gas station

According to a Floyd County Police department incident report, on July 16th, 2021, at around 11:00 PM, Officer Puckett was dispatched to the Circle K gas station at 1881 Calhoun Road in reference to a male that was nude and exposing his genitalia to customers in the parking lot. Dispatch advised that the male was in a white Toyota Prius on the lot. Officer Puckett reported, “[I] arrived on scene to find a male, Todd Van Leuven, 40, of Rome, sitting in a white Toyota Prius in the lot. Todd was animated during our interaction. [I] asked Todd about the reported incident, and he denied the incident happening. Todd was clothed during our interaction. However, when he exited his vehicle, he did have to pull his pants up. [I] also observed several cans of beer inside of Todd’s vehicle. When asked if he had drunk any of the beer, he said that he had. When the officer asked Todd how much beer he had drunk, and he replied with “enough .” Once other officers were on scene with Officer Puckett, he went into the store and made contact with the clerk to view the camera footage. Officer Puckett reported, “On the video of the incident, [I] did observe Todd expose his penis in the parking lot by hanging it over the waistband of his sweat pants. While Todd had his penis exposed he approached several customers asking for cigarettes.” After viewing the footage, the officer again asked Todd about what happened. Todd began trying to justify his actions by saying that he had his religious freedoms and that this is a free country. Todd was taken into custody transported to the Floyd County Jail. While being screened by jail medical staff, Todd admitted to drinking approximately 12 beers.
