According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on November 24th, 2021, at around 9:07 PM, Deputy Warren responded to Engineered Floors located at 3368 Old Dixie Highway about a disturbance regarding an intoxicated driver. A supervisor on scene called on behalf of the victim. According to the report, “He told Whitfield 911 that a male, seeming to be very intoxicated in a blue Chevy truck, was on scene harassing woman. He advised that the male physically touched the victim and put his hands in her pants.” Deputy Warren arrived and observed the vehicle in the back area headed for the roadway attempting to leave the scene. Deputy Warren initiated a traffic stop on the Chevy truck and made contact with the driver identified as. Stacy Dewayne Henfling, 54, of Dalton. According to the report, “Deputy Warren could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the pickup truck. Deputy Warren also observed a whiskey bottle in the passenger floorboard that was opened. Deputy Warren asked Henfling how he got to the plant. He stated he drove from home on the roadway. Mr. Henfling told Deputy Warren that he worked there on the third shift starting at 11:00 pm.” Henfling advised the deputy that the lady at the shack was his girlfriend. When asked to prove they were talking or dating, Henfling could not prove any proof. He then said nothing had happened. According to the report, “The victim advised the deputy that Henfling drove his truck to the shack and kept asking for a kiss and for her to get in his truck. She said she could smell that he was intoxicated. After being asked to leave, she said Henfling got in his truck and sped off at a high rate of speed, causing tires to lose traction and spin. According to the report, Henfling then returned. She stated that he grabbed her from behind, touching her “boobs” with his hands, stuck his hands down her pants, touching her buttocks, and then reached around, touching her groin area before she was able to get away. She said this encounter was unwanted. Henfling then attempted to drive his truck straight towards the supervisor, who arrived to help the victim, almost causing a crash. When asked if he had been drinking prior to driving, Henfling said yes. During Field Sobriety Testing, Henfling could not complete the HGN test due to the level of intoxication. After failing the tests, Henfling was placed under arrest for DUI, alcohol, Less safe. Henfling then agreed to the state breathe test. Henfling was transported to the Whitfield County Jail. According to the report, “Deputy Spivey advised while at the jail Henfling, he said to him, “I was just trying to get some p***y.” Henfling also refused the state implied consent test. Deputy Warren was next to the holding cell doing required paperwork and overheard Mr. Henfling yelling at a female officer to “suck his d**k.” He was also yelling and being very obnoxious, with the booking officer ultimately being placed into the padded cell.” Henfling was charged with sexual battery, DUI, less safe, alcohol, driving on a suspended license, open container.
