Drunk Michigan man arrested after walking in the middle of the roadway heading to get more beer in Floyd County

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, On June 12th, 2022, at 11:50 AM, Officer Surrett was patrolling on Maple Road near North 3d. Officer Surrett reported, “While patrolling, [I] noticed a male sitting on the side of the road with his head down. Upon turning my patrol vehicle around to go and speak with the male to make sure he was okay. [I] noticed he had gotten up and was stumbling down the middle of the inbound lane.” Officer Newport assisted the officer with checking on the male, later identified as Andrew Jason Steadcoots, 46, of Warren, Michigan. According to the report, “Andrew first advised he was heading to Dollar General then stated he was trying to get to Circle K before they closed. Andrew advised he was going to Circle K to get more beer. Andrew advised officers that he had drank at least six 25oz beers. Andrew was booked into the Floyd County Jail and charged with PUI.
