Drunk Rome man arrested after urinating in the Redmond ER lobby in the early morning hours

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, on January 5th, 2021, at around 4:48 AM, Officer Lopez responded to Redmond Regional Emergency room and met with Lt. Pendley and the medical staff. Lt. Pendley advised that while Jefferson Brack Thompson, 50, of Rome, was in the waiting room, he stood up, unzipped his pants, and urinated on the floor of the waiting room. There were several people in the waiting area. According to officers, Thompson was clearly intoxicated. He could not walk straight or focus on questions. He had also urinated on himself while sitting in the lobby chair and while in the patrol car. Officer Lopez transported Thompson to Floyd County Jail, where he was charged with public drunk. According to online arrest records, Thompson has a lengthy arrest record regarding alcohol and public indecency.
