Drunk Summerville man arrested after violently beating woman and spearing man into table in Chattooga County

According to a Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office incident report, on May 28th, 2022, 11:50 AM, Deputy Alan Garmany arrived at a residence and was met with the sound of what he thought was either a gunshot or a firework. He could also hear a male and female yelling. The property owner approached and said, “He was on stage performing (at “The Broken Wheel” located at 1207 LM Thomas Jr. Road in Lyerly) while others inside observed [the victim] being physically assaulted by [Buddy Allen Rooker, 36, of Summerville]. The man advised he got off the stage in an attempt to stop Rooker but was unsuccessful due to Rooker turning his attention to him and spearing him into a table.” The victim was found hiding in the bathroom and had two serious black eyes, a bloody nose, a bloody mouth and severely bruised face. She originally said she fell but eventually told deputies Rooker had violently beat her. Rooker was found allegedly intoxicated at 70 Sims Road. Hewas placed into custody and charged with battery under the Family Violence Act, criminal trespass, public drunkenness, simple battery and terroristic threats and acts. At the Chattooga County Jail, Rooker allegedly told deputies, “Once he gets out, [deputies] are just going to arrest him again because he is going to take both of his feet and stomp her head in.”
