According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report, on Saturday, July 30th, 2021, a 1992 Honda Civic being driven by Kelsey Johnson, 23, of LaFayette, was traveling west on GA-136. A 2004 Lincoln Navigator being driven by Langela Marsh, 47, of LaFayette, was traveling east on GA-136. A 1988 Oldsmobile being driven by Joseph Smith, 21, of Chickamauga, was traveling north at Carriage Estates Mobile Home Park stopped at its intersection with GA-136. Marsh stated as she was approaching the Honda Civic, the vehicle started to turn left but then steered back right. Marsh stated she had slowed and was proceeding straight when the Honda Civic suddenly turned left into her path, causing her to strike the Honda Civic in the right front with the Lincoln Navigator’s front. Smith stated that he was stopped waiting to turn onto GA 136 when he initially heard a crash, and then his vehicle was struck on the left side by the Honda Civic. Both Marsh and Johnson, along with her passenger Kimbriana Dennis of Dalton, were injured. They were transported by CHI EMS to Erlanger Medical in Chattanooga. Johnson was cited by the trooper for failing to yield while turning left.
