Four injured in four-vehicle crash in Walker County Thursday afternoon

According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report, on Thursday, January 14th, 2021, at around 4:25 PM, a 2002 Ford Mustang being driven by John Strickland, 23, of Fort Oglethorpe, was traveling west on Mimosa Lane. A 2001 Ford Crown Victoria, being driven by Skylar Huckabee, 21, of Fort Oglethorpe, was traveling north on GA 1 (Hwy 27) in the inside lane. The Ford Mustang entered onto the roadway of GA 1 and made contact with the Ford Crown Victoria in the intersection. Huckabee attempted to avoid collision with the Mustang by swerving to the left. The Mustang spun in a clockwise manner and came to a final rest on GA 1. The Ford Crown Victoria continued traveling towards the left and crossed over into the southbound lanes of GA 1. A 2005 Nissan Altima, being driven by James Murdock, 63, of Rock Spring, was traveling southbound in the outside lane and its front end made contact with the Crown Victoria’s front end. The Altima traveled off the right side of the roadway and came to a final rest. The Crown Victoria spun out in a counterclockwise manner and came into contact with a 2017 Audi Q5 being driven by Princess Carson, 33, of Fort Oglethorpe. During the Crown Victoria’s course of rotation, the Audi was traveling southbound in the inside lane and sideswiped with Crown Victoria. The Crown Victoria came to a final rest in the intersection. According to the investigating Trooper King, the area of impacts occurred in the intersections and was determined using skid marks, gouge marks, vehicle fluids, vehicle property damage, and driver statements. The driver of the Crown Victoria was injured in the crash and transported by Puckett EMS to Erlanger. A three-year-old in her vehicle was also injured and transported by Puckett EMS to Erlanger. Both Strickland and Murdock were injured but were not transported. Strickland was cited by the trooper for failure to stop at a stop sign.
