GSP investigating serious four vehicle crash that occurred in Gordon County Monday morning

According to the Georgia State Patrol, preliminary information indicates that at around 8:45 a.m. on Monday, October 25th, 2021, Georgia State Patrol Post 43 Calhoun was requested to investigate a four vehicle crash on GA-156 (Red Bud Road) near Knight Drive. Four vehicles on Red Bud Road were stopped facing east due to a previous crash near the intersection of Red Bud Road and Knight Drive. A commercial vehicle that transports roll off dumpsters approached the stopped vehicles from the rear and struck the rear of the four stopped vehicles. Two of the vehicles were pushed off an embankment and overturned. According to the GSP, a 74-year-old male was life flighted from the scene. A 61-year-old male and a 28-year-old female were transported by ambulance from the scene. The Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is assisting with this crash investigation.
