Kentucky mother killed after vehicle crashes into rear of tractor-trailer on I-75 in Whitfield County

According to the Georgia State Patrol, “The following are preliminary details as the crash is still under investigation. On Friday, April 8, 2022, at 11:30 pm, Troopers from Post 5 Dalton responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 South near mile marker 333 in Whitfield County. A red Nissan Maxima, driven by Mr. David Grant (35 years old) left the roadway, struck the guardrail, traveled back into Interstate 75 South, and struck the rear of a tractor-trailer. The Nissan became lodged under the tractor-trailer and was drug several hundred feet before the tractor-trailer was able to stop. The passenger of the Nissan, Ms. Krystal Huff (35 years old) was pronounced deceased on the scene. The Georgia State Patrol Specialized Reconstruction Team is also investigating the crash.” According to a friend, Ms. Huff who is from Independence, Kentucky, left behind five children and was a very loving mother who loved her children dearly. She said, “This is heartbreaking for us all. She was a dear friend who was there at the birth of my child.”
