Kingston man arrested for DUI after leaving Rome River Jam and speeding in Floyd County

According to a Floyd County Police Department incident report, On October 28th, 2022, at 11:44 PM, Officer Forrister was on GA 293 near its intersection with Goodman Road when he observed a blue Jeep wrangler speeding in a southbound direction at 62 mph in a 45 mph zone. Officer Forrister initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver Martin Kristian Bruce Anderson, 21, of Kingston. Officer Forrister reported, “Once [I] approached the vehicle, the odor of an alcoholic beverage was obvious coming from the vehicle. [I] did explain to the driver why [I] had initiated the traffic stop and asked if he had been drinking. Anderson did advise no. [I] was also able to see that Anderson had glossy red eyes and slurred speech while he spoke. [I] did ask him to step out of the car and again asked him about drinking at this point. Anderson admitted that he had 3-4 drinks earlier while at the concert (Rome River Jam).” During standardized field sobriety tests, Anderson showed several signs of impairment and a BAC of. 199 on a PBT. Anderson was placed under arrest for DUI and refused both state tests. Anderson was transported to the Floyd County Jail and charged with DUI and speeding.
