LaFayette man arrested again for DUI after leaving bar and failing to maintain lane in Rossville

According to a Rossville Police Department incident report, On October 30th, 2022, at 1:34 AM, Sgt. Carter observed a 2015 Chevy Silverado turn southbound on Chickamauga Avenue while the traffic light was still red (a sign is clearly posted “no turn on red”). While behind the vehicle prior to initiating a traffic stop Sgt. Carter observed it failing to maintain the lane several times. Sgt. Carter initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as the driver Buddy Wayne Mason, 25, of LaFayette. Buddy said that he was just tired and was trying to get home to Lafayette. Sgt. Carter reported, “When asked where he was coming from, Buddy said the Brew-N-Cue. When [I] asked Buddy if he had been drinking, he stated that he only had one or two beers prior to driving.” During field sobriety testing, Buddy showed several signs of impairment and a BAC of 0.141 on PBT. Buddy was then placed under arrest for DUI and agreed to the state test. Buddy was then transported to the Rossville PD, where he showed a BAC of .107 at 2:24 AM. Buddy was transported to the Walker County Jail and charged with DUI 0.8 grams, failure to maintain a single lane, and failure to obey a traffic control device. According to Walker County arrests records, Buddy was just arrested for DUI in August.
